New case: we now grade cards up to 150 pt.
Until now, thick cards did not fit into our case – 55 pt was the limit. With our new case we now accept cards up to 150 pt thickness. That is around 3.8 mm.
What does “pt” actually mean?
“pt” stands for point and is the common unit for the thickness of trading cards. One point is one thousandth of an inch, i.e. 0.0254 mm. So 55 pt is around 1.4 mm and 150 pt around 3.8 mm.
Which cards does this matter for?
Most trading cards are thin and fit into any case anyway. Thicker ones are mainly special cards – for example sports cards with an embedded piece of fabric or patch. Exactly these cards can now be graded and sealed by us.
What changes – and what does not
- New: Cards up to 150 pt (approx. 3.8 mm) fit into our case.
- Same: Assessment, sealing and certificate are the same as for any other card.
- Same: The price. There is no surcharge for thick cards.
- Limit: Cards thicker than 150 pt cannot be encased.
