First things first: what is grading?

In case you are here for the first time – grading is quickly explained. It takes three steps:

1. Check authenticity

We take a close look at your card and check whether it is genuine.

2. Rate the condition

Centering, corners, edges and surface result in a grade from 1 to 10. The higher the grade, the better the card is preserved.

3. Seal it securely

The card goes into a sturdy protective case, the “slab”. The label shows the name, the grade and the certificate number.

FusionArt™ changes nothing about this assessment. It changes what your slab looks like.

What FusionArt™ does differently.

With Standard Grading the case is clear and the label is neutral. With FusionArt™ the case itself becomes part of your card.

How it works.

From the order to the finished slab – in five steps.

  1. Order and send in

    You choose FusionArt™ in the shop and send us your card – or drop it off at our store in Cologne. You need a customer account for this.

  2. We grade your card

    Authenticity check, grade and subgrades – exactly as with Standard Grading. Then you receive a message from us.

  3. You choose your artwork The special part

    In your customer account you have suggestions created, pick your favourite and adjust the label. No time? Leave it to us – without a choice after 7 days we design it for you.

  4. We print and seal

    Your artwork goes onto the case, and the card is securely sealed inside.

  5. Back to you

    We send your finished FusionArt™ slab back to you well protected – or you pick it up from us.

What is FusionArt™ in one sentence?
FusionArt™ is card grading where we also design the case: the artwork of your card is printed borderless onto the back plate, and the label sits on the same image – card and case look like one piece.
I'm new here: what does grading actually mean?
With grading, we check whether your card is genuine and rate its condition with a grade from 1 to 10. It is then sealed in a sturdy protective case, the so-called slab. The label shows the card name, the grade and a certificate number that anyone can verify online.
What is the difference to Standard Grading?
The assessment is exactly the same. The difference is the look: with Standard Grading the case is clear and the label is neutral. With FusionArt™ the artwork of your card fills the whole case, and the label is part of the image.
Is my card printed on or altered?
No. We only print on the case and the label, never on the card. Your card stays exactly as you handed it in and is securely sealed in the case, as with any grading.
Does my card get a regular grade?
Yes. FusionArt™ includes everything from Standard Grading: authenticity check, grade, four subgrades from grade 7 and a certificate with a QR code that can be verified online.
Where does the artwork for my case come from?
From our scan of your card. From it we create suggestions that continue the artwork beyond the edge of the card. You do not need to upload anything and you need no design skills.
How do I choose my artwork?
As soon as your card has been graded, you receive a message from us. In your customer account you have suggestions created, pick the one you like best and can adjust the label – for example the text colour. At the end you submit your choice bindingly.
What happens if I cannot decide or have no time?
Then you simply leave the design to us. If you do not choose anything within 7 days of our message, we design the artwork for you – your order does not get stuck.
Can I change my artwork afterwards?
Until you submit, you can change your mind at any time. After the binding submission your case goes to print – after that no change is possible.
Do I need a customer account?
Yes. Choosing the artwork runs through your customer account. You sign in when ordering or create a new account in the process.
What does FusionArt™ cost and how long does it take?
FusionArt™ costs €39.95 per card – grading is included. The turnaround time is approx. 15–20 business days from the arrival of your card.
Which cards is FusionArt™ available for?
For individual trading cards that we also accept for Standard Grading – for example Pokémon, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic, Lorcana and sports cards. FusionArt™ is not available for sealed booster packs.
Can I mix Standard Grading and FusionArt™ in one order?
Yes. You decide for each card individually. So that we know which card gets the artwork, you enter the name of every FusionArt™ card when ordering.
