Who grades your cards
Behind PGS is a team of experienced collectors and grading specialists who assess cards from all major trading card games every day – from Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! through One Piece to Magic. We know the typical weak points of every series: the delicate embossing of Ultimate Rares, the clouding of Magic foils, the whitening of dark One Piece borders. This daily practice is the basis for fair, consistent grading.
Every card is assessed under controlled lighting and magnification against four criteria – centering, corners, edges and surface. How these subgrades form the overall grade is documented transparently on our subgrades and grading scale pages. So you always know why your card received exactly that grade.
