Why grade?

Why get One Piece cards graded?

The OP-TCG is growing fast – grading secures the authenticity, condition and value of your best cards.

The One Piece Card Game has become one of the most popular trading card games in record time. As popularity rises, so do prices – especially for Manga Rares, Alternate Arts (Alt Arts), Leader Parallel and Secret Rares (SEC). These cards are ideal grading candidates: when you get One Piece cards graded, we confirm their authenticity and document their condition objectively and verifiably.

The elaborate, full-art designs of the OP-TCG are stunning – but also delicate. Full-bleed foils in particular react strongly to scratches, fingerprints and light reflections, and the intensely coloured borders quickly show whitening on corners and edges. We assess every card under controlled lighting and magnification, so even fine print lines or clouding are reliably detected.

The sealed PGS case then protects your card permanently against wear, UV light and moisture. The serial number with QR code makes the grade verifiable at any time, and the pop report transparently shows how rare a given grade is for your card – a clear advantage for resale.

Is it worth it?

Which One Piece cards are worth grading?

Rarity, character popularity and condition determine the grading value.

Manga Rares

The most sought-after OP cards with manga artwork – high demand meets delicate design.

Alternate Arts (Alt Art)

Elaborate special artworks of popular characters – a top grade secures collector value.

Leader & Leader Parallel

Leader cards including parallel versions are rated by the same clear criteria.

Secret Rares (SEC)

Rare chase cards from current sets whose value a high grade secures long term.

What we look at

One Piece grading specifics

The OP-TCG is released in both a Japanese (OCG) and an English edition. We grade both. For the Japanese card format we provide a matching acrylic holder so every card is sealed precisely and securely. Since modern One Piece cards often feature borderless full-art foils, we check the surface especially carefully – the smallest scratches stand out more visually here than on cards with a white border.

Centering is also important: on Alt Arts and Manga Rares with continuous artwork even a slight offset is often visible to the naked eye and clearly affects the overall grade. Our rating makes exactly this transparent – so buyers and sellers share the same objective basis.

Grading criteria

What gets rated?

Four subgrades make up the overall grade from 1 to 10.

Centering

Even cut – especially visible on full-art designs.

Corners

Sharpness of the corners, whitening, dents.

Edges

Edge wear and colour chipping – common on dark borders.

Surface

Scratches, print lines and clouding – decisive on foils.
